Shortly after Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race, failed Green Party candidate Jill Stein demanded a recount in several swing states. Her request was granted in Wisconsin and the results are in at last.
After the extensive recount effort, Trump actually increased his margin of victory by 162 votes in Wisconsin.
Without providing any evidence to support her claim, Stein previously argued the 2016 election was “hack-riddled” as she justified her requests for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. If Wisconsin’s election was “hacked” (it wasn't), it seems the so-called hackers intended to take away votes from Trump, not Clinton.
Wisconsin Elections Committee Chairman Mark Thomsen certified the final vote tally on Monday after an extensive effort to recount roughly 3 million ballots. The total vote count reportedly changed by 1,769 votes and added 162 votes to Trump’s lead over Clinton in the state.
