COMMON CENTS wants to congratulate Senator Saxby Chamblis for his landslide victory in the Georgia Senate race. Chamblis won the first time by 110,000 votes but fell below 50% of the total vote. In the December 4 runoff Chamblis won by a landslide 300,000 votes. Chamblis with over 80 percent of the vote in Chamblis has over 59% of the vote winning counties from one end of Georgia to another. What made the difference? Sarah Palin made four campaign stops for Chamblis on Monday firing up the base and drawing huge crowds. You can read more about this huge win here and here. This despite Obama taking a huge stake in the election with paid staff, radio and robo calls to Georgia residents.
