The Cambridge Case (updated):

By now everyone has heard of the case of the Cambridge Police and especially officer Sergeant James Crowley arresting Henry Lewis Gates Jr on July 16th. President Obama was asked about this incident at his press conference and gave the following answer: “I think it’s fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry,” Obama said. “No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And No. 3 — what I think we know separate and apart from this incident — is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.” This story is fast changing and breaking news is happening all the time. Two racists in this matter, both assume the treatment of Mr. gates was different because he is black and the Officer was white. The incident was escalated by that assumption, and escalated as an issue by my President. Sad.
