As always Common Cents is your one-stop-shop for all of the late breaking Toyota Quality Updates. Just two weeks ago Common Cents was all over the previous Toyota Quality Update, the recalls of 8 popular models. Now the latest problem is with the Prius and a problem with their brakes.
Feb. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Toyota Motor Corp.’s new Prius hybrid model has received 14 brake-related complaints since it was introduced in May, Japan’s Transport Ministry said. Of the 14 complaints, one involved an accident, Masaya Ota, of the Transport Ministry’s recall division, said by telephone. Separately, the latest Prius has drawn more than 100 complaints related to brakes in the U.S., Kyodo News reported. The report, which cited the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, didn’t provide details about the complaints. Takanori Yokoi, a spokesman for Toyota in Tokyo, said he couldn’t immediately confirm or deny the report when reached by phone. Karen Aldana, a spokeswoman for the U.S. safety agency, didn’t return a call to her mobile phone or respond to an e-mail message sent after normal business hours. The 2010 version of the Prius isn’t among the more than 7.6 million vehicles that Toyota, the world’s biggest carmaker, has recalled to repair defects related to incidents of unintended acceleration. I am really glad you posted this.
My father passed away last year and left me his Toyota Camry. It's a 1996 so I guess it's not on the list.
Whew!
BTW, You are linked :-)
Another bad break (no pun intended) for them. I really like their video that was released by the COO on the previous recall. At least they publically acknowledged the mistake and made it a priority to fix the issue.
