Breaking - Democrat Rep. Bob Etheridge assualts college student in DC

He should resign or be prosecuted immediately.  If a Republican had done this he would be gone already.  The Congressman is Democrat Bob Etheridge NC-2.  And yes, assault is a felony.

Overreaction for sure, but I wonder why the student didn't identify himself, it was a simple request. The Congressman had no right to put his hand on the young man, he could be sued or arrested. He's lucky the young man did not file charges.

Paranoia? Forgot to take his meds? Or did he just get done buying crack on the corner?

What was that about?

This is insane! I can't beleive we are letting the people we elect to treat us like this. I will be voting for Ron Paul in 2012. I am counting down the days! http://www.theobamacountdown.com

He should be in jail!

(Then again, so should most politicians... )

As you said, just IMAGINE if this guy were a Repub.! He'd already be fired and in the clink.

I'm going to swipe this one, credit due.

Resign AND be prosecuted.

Yeah, Debbie, the kid should have showed him his papers.

In the old days, nobody would have though of making the kid show his papers.

He definitely should have, so the "Congressman" could send the STASI arould to straighten things out.

the people who did this have no obligation to give the senator their names, just as the senator has no obligation to answer any of their questions.

c'mon people, man up. this is only assault in the liberal definition.

however, it is always funny to watch dems squirm when the same tactics they use are used agains them.

Ask any Dem--it is just like in Arizona--the kids should have presented their papers so the good congressman could arrange for the STASI around to straighten them out.

In the old, Constitutional days, nobody would have thought the kids would have to present their papers (you weren't going to believe what they said, would you?), and they would have thought the Congressman could have kept on walking if he didn't want to talk.

It has nothing to do with political affiliation. What he did was wrong. Democrats and Republican have both gotten away with stuff they shouldn't have.
