Video: Rick Perry Top Ten excuses on Late Night w/ David Letterman:

By now everyone knows Texas Governor Rick Perry really "stepped in it" at the debate Wednesday Night.  Well he was on Letterman last night reading the Top Ten List "Top Ten Reasons I Messed Up"

Thanks for posting the video, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. I stopped watching Letterman years ago when he piled his bile & hateful rants about Sarah Palin and her daughters.

Obama will chew this boy up and spit him out. I supported George Bush but I would cringe when I saw him speaking publicly. There are plenty of very smart & articulate republican candidates with conservative values. Sorry Rick Perry... It's no longer "affordable" to only have the best intentions. We need a confident, constitution defending communicator to go against the split tongued liberals that have taken over this country.

Got to admit I like Perry's sense of humor, and this is way overblown. The lame stream media didn't push for Obama to quit when he said he visited 57 states. Perry's accomplishments as Texas Governor far overshadows a silly flub in a debate.

Best thing to do. Make a self deprecating joke of it. I will all go away. I mean he could have stated he was going to get rid of the departments after he visited all 57 states.

Perry was made a bigger fool now by being on this show. This is what you get when you think the far left will ever show anyone on the right mercy.

Problem is that there isn't a single Republican in the Letterman audience. Oops!! Guess that's mistake #11.

Ok, who has NOT had some sort of brain fart and forgotten something? Even in the middle of the sentence? At least he didn't claim to have been through 57 states, mispronounce "Corpsman", introduce Biden as the next PRESIDENT while running for VP, or how about talking about his moslem faith, um, Christian faith???

Well played Governor Perry! This is the opposite approach to what Sen. Bob Dole did in 1996. Dole basically didn't let anyone know he had a sense of humor or a personality until finally making the late night rounds after the election was over. Good to see the Perry campaign finally getting after it!

Texas may want to consider cutting back on the amount of Fluoride that the governors mansion has in its water. Last Governor was just as Tardtastic at public speaking as this one.

Even God isn't helping Perry!

When did Letterman's show stop being funny?

Maybe Perry should have read his canned responses off a teleprompter like Obama does.

Gov Perry missed his calling. He's actually quite a good comedic actor.
Maybe he should replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. Why is Letterman going out of his way to be unamused by Perry's well-delivered lines? From his reaction to the governor, you'd almost think Letterman was a New York Times-reading, super left-liberal twit.

Perry showed a good sense of humor; would there were more in DC who were able to admit a mistake and laugh at themselves. He looks like a good guy.
