And that is the historical unemployment rates. For years the "normal" unemployment rate was in the 4 - 5% range. When the Democrats took over Congress in November 2006 the Unemployment Rate was only 4.4%. What we've done here is color in Red the years when the Republicans were in charge and Blue when Democrats have been in charge. Since the GOP took over one half of Congress (the House of Representatives) in Jan 2007 we've changed the hue of the blue as the Democrats control 2/3 of Government. Which party does a better job on unemployment? Republicans or Democrats?
