By the numbers: US Economy better in 2006 (Republican Control) than 2014 (Democrat Control):

By the actual raw data the US Economy was in much better shape in 2006 under Republican Control (the GOP held the White House (Bush) and both houses of Congress) than in 2014 under President Obama and Democrats controlling the Senate.
