Besides the lumber issue, I think people realize the value of having a backyard to hang out in. Meanwhile, Apartment owners seem to always be raising rents, thus giving even more incentives to buy a home. Plus the interest rates are so low. Plus, if someone is going to work from home, again, why not have a backyard since going "out" is even prohibited because of COVID-19.
