I think I remember when "Republican" meant something good. Locally, I know lifelong Dems and one recovered Socialist who recently left the Dem Party. They hate what the Dem Party now is. But they do not want to be called Republican either. And I do not blame them for a second. We decided to call ourselves "Americans". We'll let the politicians divide themselves up into Parties if they want.
