Intense helmet cam footage shows Ukrainian soldiers taking on an entire Russian assault platoon during the defense of the last road to Bakhmut. The video shows the Honour Company of the Davinci Wolves in combat so close that they where within effective hand grenade range. In the beginning the Ukrainian soldiers were located inside a improvised bunker when a Russian assault that seemingly was initiated by automatic grenade launcher fire started. The men took fighting positions and began to counter the Russian attempt to storm their positions. During the battle the Russian attackers came so close that one of them managed to throw a grenade at the Ukrainian position that missed its target and ended in the failure of the attack (at 0:25). From the video it strongly looks like the Russians lacked heavy armour support and also no other support by fire elements where effectively used. That gave the Ukrainians more freedom to maneuver to counter the assault. Ukrainian defenders were even able to leave their trenches to get a better overview of the situation. All in all the Ukrainian unit communicated very well during the course of the firefight and smashed the assault. Watch the full video here:
