Via Washington Examiner. And this is Trump's 4th Nobel Peace nomination!
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) nominated former President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize for his foreign policy efforts in the Middle East, marking the fourth time the former president has been nominated for the honor.
Tenney praised Trump for his “historic” Abraham Accords treaty, a deal brokered between Israel and four of its Arab neighbors aimed at improving economic and diplomatic relations between the nations. Her nomination comes days after three U.S. service members were killed in a drone strike in Jordan.
“Donald Trump was instrumental in facilitating the first new peace agreements in the Middle East in almost 30 years,” Tenney said in a
statement to
Fox News Digital. “For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy ‘professionals’, and international organizations insisted that additional Middle East peace agreements were impossible without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump proved that to be false.Nobel Peace Prizes have been awarded over the peace accord between Egypt and Israel in 1978, as well as the Oslo Accords in 1994. Trump was nominated for the Peace Prize for the Abraham Accords several times during his presidency but has never won.He was first nominated in 2020 by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a Norwegian Parliament member. Laura Huhtasaari, a member of the Finnish Parliament and the right-wing Finns Party, nominated Trump a few months later for the 2021 prize for his work in constructing peace by “encouraging conflicting parties for dialogue and negotiations.” Australian lawmakers later nominated him for the third time in September 2020.Tenney, who is now the fourth person to nominate the former president, said Trump’s “valiant efforts” in orchestrating the “unprecedented” accords continue to go unrecognized and believes that must be rectified as war between Israel and Gaza continues.“Now more than ever, when Joe Biden’s weak leadership on the international stage is threatening our country’s safety and security, we must recognize Trump for his strong leadership and his efforts to achieve world peace,” the New York congresswoman said. “I am honored to nominate former President Donald Trump today and am eager for him to receive the recognition he deserves.”
