There were actually two elections last Tuesday in California, one was a "jungle primary" where the top two finishers go on to the general election in November. One was to finish out the term of the late Diane Feinstein's term.
In the first Adam Schiff is slightly ahead, and he and Republican Steve Garvey will advance to the November election. In the election to finish out Feinstein's term - Garvey has a growing lead, now over 190K votes! Can a Republican actually win in California? And many of the votes outstanding are from Republican counties.
Now California is notoriously slow in counting - so anything can happen but a 190,000 lead looks pretty good - so far! Via CNN Elections.

Garvey can win only if they finish counting before 0200, the magic hour where the ballot fairies bring out the suitcases.
Garvey's competition is Adam Schiff.
Even Califrutopia Democommunists can tell Schiff from Shineola.
