And because it is California - they are still counting votes. Interestingly, Florida and most states count all votes by midnight of Election Day - but in California it takes literally months!
So the primary was March 5, and a month later Republican Steve Garvey has extended his lead to 278,788 votes with 95% in. Note - there has been 95% reporting for weeks now! Via CNN Elections. This is interesting - a Republican has not won statewide in California in 20 years!

CA is dragging the process out so the Winner (Garvey) has less time to fundraise and campaign for office in the Nov election.
