REMINDER - the 13th Amendment ended slavery!

It is a historical fact that the 13th amendment ended slavery, the 14th amendment gave the slave citizenship and the 15th amendment granted former slaves the right to vote!  All were supported and passed by Republicans - all were vigorously opposed by the Democratic Party.  We really should celebrate the passing of the 13th amendment as a National Holiday!

Lincoln did not abolish slavery in the US. In fact the EP enforced slavery in the US. The 13th amendment that Lincoln liked would have kept slavery alive and well to this day. That amendment was on the path to ratification until the war started. Lincoln was in favor of removing all blacks from the US, until his dying day.
