I’ve never encountered a competent mathematician with such a poor grasp of logic. His citations of fellow believers have an average age of 300-400 years ago, long before Hitchens quality telescopes and microscopes. He also consistently confuses “faith” and “belief”, they are different concepts. I believe I have a dog, it is not a matter of faith. His notion that we don’t know ultimate answers has driven him to accept a superstition, I and others are willing wait to know more.

His faith breaks down to this. A god impregnates an unwilling virgin with himself so he can later sacrifice himself to himself to expiate a sin only two people committed but has served to punish all humankind. Sorry, that’s not a compelling story.
